Columbia Crest is sits on the Horse Heaven Hills plateau between the Columbia River and Prosser. It is Washington's largest (production) winery and a site to be seen. Now there are several other wineries you can visit in this area, so it's not as "in the middle of nowhere" as it used to be. They offer scheduled tours of the production facilities, something I would highly recommend if you want to see the inner workings of a large winery. You can also take a limited "self-guided tour" of part of their facilities if you show-up outside touring hours.
The gift shop is everything you want a winery gift shop to be, with a tasting bar, trinkets and small food items. Outside, there are acres grass and a few picnic tables where you can enjoy the pond and sunshine while savoring wine. Columbia Crest offers a wide variety of wines for most palates to enjoy. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. This is a great place to bring large groups (of course you need to call ahead and make an appointment) and have a meal. They allow you to have catering to be delivered and will make recommendations.
